ÉLODIE MAENTLER
With a constant concern for elegance and comfort, Elodie Maentler transforms the living spaces of her customers on the Basque and Landes coasts.
She founded her own interior architecture and design agency in Biarritz in 2009, bringing her artistic vision to high-end renovations.
A graduate in interior architecture from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD), she leads a talented team of two interior designers, an architect and an art director, and works passionately on every aspect of each project.
Co-founder of éditions du coté in 2016 (collectible pieces designed by artists and locally crafted), Elodie works with a network of artisans who produce her designs with care and precision. In 2019, she and her team designed their first pieces of furniture published by éditions du coté, and now regularly offer new creations.
Whether modern, minimalist or more decorative, the interiors and objects of Maentler studio reflect a joyful, optimistic beauty: that of simplicity.
OUR SERVICES
A partial interior architecture assignment is a preliminary architectural project.
A complete assignment, on the other hand, is made up of a preliminary project and a project, to which various options can be added, as described below.
1. PRELIMINARY PROJECT
Our agency designs all or part of your project, starting with an initial meeting on site. This meeting enables us to establish a diagnosis, and an estimate of the cost of the preliminary project.
Once this stage has been validated, an in-depth interview takes place, enabling us to better understand your tastes, needs and desires, as well as your lifestyle if you're an individual, or your brand DNA if you're a company. Then comes the search for the right atmosphere and materials, and the design of the new space, including circulation plans and 3D drawings.
The pre-project file we deliver to you contains all these elements, as well as an estimate of the total cost following on-site consultation of the various trades and suppliers.

2. PROJECT
If you wish, and on the basis of the preliminary project, Maentler studio then offers to assist you in project management, coordinating and monitoring the building site.
To do this, we draw on a network of experienced craftsmen, and can also integrate any craftsmen you recommend.
We provide you with our recommendations on the choice of services and technical solutions, and validate them together.
We are committed to planning and coordinating the work of craftsmen and companies, and to keeping you informed of progress and any changes incurred. Our regular discussions enable you to approve every stage of the project. We pay particular attention to details, costs and deadlines.
- Possible modifications to the preliminary design and final design
- Technical plans (traffic and networks)

- Analysis of bids and signature of contracts with service providers

Invoicing is spread over the various stages mentioned above.
3. OPTIONS
Advisory visit
Occasional one-hour site visit to confirm property acquisition, renovation or extension possibilities. On request, we can check the PLU (Plan Local d'Urbanisme) and urban regulations with the relevant departments.
Déclaration préalable (preliminary notification)
We declare your work to the relevant municipal authorities (filling Cerfa forms, including mandatory and additional documents), and take care of public signage.
Permis de construire (building permit)
For your construction projects, we coordinate the drafting and filing of building permits with an HMONP architect partner.
Decoration
We can help you decorate your space by designing bespoke furniture, proposing special finishes (fittings, upholstery) and recommending works by established or emerging artists. We can suggest and provide you pieces from major furniture brands or more confidential creations in the fields of design and art, and have them quoted by our partners. We organize the reception and installation of the furniture on site.
Aesthetics and function are at the heart of our concerns, and while we keep up with the latest creative trends - colors, shapes or materials - our creations and recommendations are marked by a taste for timelessness. Because your project is unique, and because we want it to be yours, we seek a balance between form and function, rare creations and classics of contemporary or historical design.
Consultancy fees are calculated on the basis of a percentage of the total cost of the recommended fittings. Custom design fees are invoiced on an hourly basis.
